Pollard, Bond sell big in IPL auction

West India's Kieron Adrian Pollard became the most expensive purchase of the Indian Premier League player auction in Mumbai while former Rajasthan Royals player Mohammed Kaif was sold to Kings XI Punjab for $250,000 to conclude the event.

Kings XI Punjab got the services of former Rajasthan Royals player Mohammed Kaif for$250,000 after being recalled for auction. Kaif was unsold in the first round of auction.

Chennai Super Kings recall South African Justin Kemp for $100,000 while Kings XI Punjab got Yusuf Abdullah back. Rajasthan Royals also recalled Australian all-rounder Adam Voges in the squad.

Sri Lankan all-rounder Thissara Perera sold to Chennai Super Kings at base price of $50,000.

Australia's Damien Martyn sold for base price of $100,000 to Rajasthan Royals.

Royal Challengers Bangalore got England big-hitter Eoin Morgan for $220,000.

Deccan Chargers acquired the services of West Indian fast bowler Kemar Roach for $720,000 at the IPL auction.

Kolkata Knight Riders boosted their bowling attack by getting New Zealand paceman and Indian Cricket League returnee Shane Bond after a silent tie-breaker for $750,000. Bond had a base price of $100,000.

South African sensational left-arm pace bowler Wayne Parnell was sold to Delhi Daredevils for $610,000 at the IPL auction. The Proteas bowler had a base price of $200,000.

Mumbai Indians bought West Indies' explosive all-rounder Kieron Pollard for $750,000 after a silent tie-breaker at the Indian Premier League auction in Mumbai. Trinidad & Tobago-born Pollard drew attention as an all-rounder during last year's Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

The first player to be put up for the auction was of Pakistan's Shahid Afridi, but he failed to attract a bid leaving him unsold. Afridi had a base price of $250,000. Infact no Pakistani players were bought by any franchisees.

Indian Under-19 captain Ashok Menaria was sold to Royal Challengers Bangalore for one year. Left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh went to Deccan Chargers.

South Africa: Zander de Bruyn, Wayne Parnell, Tyron Henderson, Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Rory Kleinveldt, Yusuf Abdulla, Vernon Philander, Johan van der Wath, Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Morne van Vyk, Justin Kemp.
