M.Tech Admission-2012
M.Tech programme is offered in the Departments of Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics (Industrial Mathematics and Scientific Computing), Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Ocean Engineering and Physics (Solid State Technology)
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/Architecture or equivalent, or Master's degree in Chemistry/Mathematics/Physics/Life Sciences or related subjects or Professional qualifications like AMIE or any other Associate membership as specified in the M.Tech admission websitehttp://mtechadm.iitm.ac.in and qualified in GATE 2011 or 2012
Candidates graduating/graduated with B.Tech degree from IITs with CGPA of 7.5 and above for SC/ST category and 8.0 and above for other can apply without GATE score
Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer)/PwD as per Govt of India rules
How to Apply: Application can be submitted only on-line
The application fee is Rs 100/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs 200/- for others (demand draft to be drawn on any Nationalized bank in favour of the Registrar, IIT Madras payable at Chennai
