NIFT Admissions 2011 in Fashion Courses

National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is India's premier institute for fashion designing and technology courses. It is working under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. It has been known for high quality programmes in Fashion Design, Management and Technology with state of the art facilities and industry collaboration. NIFT issued notification for admission to Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes for the year 2011. NIFT has professional training centers at New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Raebareli, Bhopal, Mumbai, Kannur, Patna and Shillong. It also has operations at Mauritius. Following are other details of admission notification.

Courses offered at NIFT:

1. Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) in Accessory Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Design, Knitwear Design, Leather Design, Leather Design and Textile Design
2. B.FTech in Apparel Production
3. Master of Design (M.Des.) in Design
4. M.F.M in Fashion Management
5. M.FTech in Fashion Technology

Selection will be based on performance in written test and Situation Test / GD / Interview. Prospectus and Application Form can be obtained from the selected branches of Axis and IDBI Bank across the country on payment of Rs.250/- . You can also obtain forms from any of the NIFT centres by hand for Rs.250/-. OR you can avail the form by post enclosing a DD of Rs.350/- in favour of NIFT, New Delhi payable at New Delhi.

Important Dates:

1. Application Forms Available: 19th November, 2010 to 5th January, 2011
2. Last date for Submission of Application Form: 10th January, 2011
3. Written Entrance Examination: 20th February, 2011
4. Declaration of Written Examination Result: End of March, 2011
5. Situation Test / GD / Interviews: April - May, 2011
6. Declaration of Final Results of Bachelor Programmes: End of May, 2011;
7. Declaration of Final Results of Master Programmes: 1st week of June, 2011
