FIFA World Cup draw...not everyone is happy ?????????????

Group A: South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay, France
Group B: Argentina, Nigeria, Korea Republic, Greece
Group C: England, USA, Algeria, Slovenia
Group D: Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana
Group E: Netherlands, Denmark, Japan, Cameroon
Group F: Italy, Paraguay, New Zealand, Slovakia
Group G: Brazil, Korea DPR, Côte d'Ivoire, Portugal
Group H: Spain, Switzerland, Honduras, Chile

And yes, what a draw ceremony it was! Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) president Joseph S Blatter and his team put up a fantastic show watched by over 200 million television audience across the world. Mandela at 91 addressed the audience through a video message and the spike-headed Beckham and Charlize Theron added the glamour quotient!

However, going in by the reactions pouring in from across the world, not many seem to be happy with the groups.  South Africa, the host nation, placed in Group A have a little chance to go far in the cup. They may not survive the group. This may sound disappointing but is the naked truth. France seems to be the clear favourite here.

In Group B, Argentina is placed with Korea, Greece and Nigeria. In 1990, Argentina lost the opener to Cameroon and therefore can't afford to take any team lightly. Greece has the mettle to take on big teams especially when it is their day in the field. However, they have no reason to complain because if it were not Greece, it could have been France in the group, making their lives even more difficult.

Group C seems to be a cake walk for England because they are placed against United States of America, Slovenia and Algeria and should not be difficult for them at all. So, one of the teams that is feeling a little elated with the draw is England of course but then football like cricket is unpredictable. England has a history of losing to USA once!

In Group D, the Germans meet the tough-headed Aussies in their first match. Australians believe they have been put in the 'group of death'. Aussies can take on Ghana easily but then Serbia can pose a challenge especially when they have beaten France in the qualifiers. But the point to be noted here is that no European nation has lifted the cup on another continent. Do the Germans have the spunk to create history this time?

In Group E, Holland seems to be the strongest team but then it will have to beat Denmark, Japan and Cameroon to emerge as the winner and we all know Cameroon has the potential to spring in surprises as they did in 1990.

In Group F, it is the defending champions Italy all the way. No match! Another group that presents a cake walk for the team and others have ample reasons to be unhappy.

In Group G, Brazil feels they have no competition. Very usual for them to feel so! Though Portugal with Ronaldo and his men can give Kaka and Fabiano's team a run for their money.

Group H seems to be an all Latino affair except for the Swiss. Spain is the clear favourite here but Chile has it in them and can spoil their party.
