STAR RATINGS
Since I did 3 Idiots, the thing uppermost in my head is getting every child in India (especially those BPL) at least basic education. This Budget supports my concerns. So, all is well. I'm happy micro and solar power facilities will be made available to Leh-Ladakh. We shot in Leh for 3 Idiots and I'm thrilled that this breathtaking region has got the government's attention. More facilities to Leh-Ladakh will perhaps make it attractive to many producers. — KAREENA KAPOOR
Pranabda has won the heart of the aam admi and the experts with this Budget. I have just begun my own journey towards making our planet a greener and safer one. So in his emphasis on alternative and renewable energy, I heard a perfect echo. More kudos for the continued thrust on primary education and women's issues. Further, this Budget will definitely help to bring down prices. —PRIYANKA CHOPRA
This Budget is a fairly positive one. While education and energy issues have been addressed, what is missing is a fund allocation for sports. Cricket and tennis are the only sports that have huge sponsorships. Being a keen sportsperson, my concern for our national sport, hockey, remains unaddressed. I would also be happy if the Budget addressed needs of firefighters, policemen and teachers. — DEEPIKA PADUKONE
The overall Budget is positive for the education, entertainment and energy sectors. Finally, the FM has admitted that India is a nation of moviegoers. Clarification on custom duty for imported cinematographic films will benefit some. It would have been nice if cinema tickets were subsidized. Entertainment tax in certain states is high. The government must give this a thought. What makes me happy is that the education incentives, especially in primary schools in rural India, will continue. — KATRINA KAIF
As the finance minister pointed out, we've had a fairly trouble-free 2009. But, we live in the times of terror and increase in defence capital expenditure was mandatory. I feel that besides giving our border and police forces better amenities like guns and bulletproof vests, we must give them better living conditions. These guys are real heroes and their homes and pay packets need to be bettered. It's the least we can do for them. —SHAHID KAPUR
