Wild child Charmme is now experiencing the calm after the storm. It's almost as if she has slayed all her demons after the success of her first Malayalam film Aagathan.
Charmme — who was on an all-time low after the failure of her Laadam — said, " I was expecting a lot from that film, which, I thought, would establish me in Kollywood. I lost a lot of opportunities in Tamil as I did not do films with big heroes."
Charmme feels that she needs to reinvent herself in Tamil as in Telugu she has the image of an actress who does powerful womenoriented films. Says Charmme, "Heroine-oriented subjects are not commercially viable in Tamil cinema. Here, you have to be an ultraglam leading lady and do films only with superstars. Otherwise, it just doesn't work." Charmme confesses that she has made "a big mistake by overdoing skin show". Says she, "I was just 13 when I came into the industry. I have exposed a lot, which I'm regretting now. It all happened because I was innocent. Skin show is all about camera angles and it can be done aesthetically. Otherwise, it will become vulgar."
Meanwhile, about rumours in Tollywood that she was spotted in Hyderabad's posh night clubs with music director Devi Sri Prasad, the actress candidly says, "Devi is a very genuine person and a beautiful soul and I'm very, very close to him. No further comments, please."
